Yes worst fireworks..a total waste of time and energy spend to bring family to the 'Early/Family' new years fireworks....we could not see any fireworks because it was only at one firework point..which was completely hidden by the trees...n everyone was like what is going on....because as far as we could remember we had sat at the same spot last year n had great views of the fireworks...so totally disappointed!

Quite disappointing. The organisers expected record crowds at the family event at Yarra Park, however, the organisers made a decision to reduce the number of toilet cubicles from the previous year. As such the queue to the toilets were quite long - over a half an hour wait. Try telling that to a 4 year old child that desperately needs to go!!

OMG, this was the worst 'Early/Family' new years fireworks I've seen in the past 12 years of going. Positives: -Saskwatch -James Reyne (even though you never know what he's singing) Negatives -The Bombay Royale (60's psychedelic/Bollywood music which was so out of place for the event and only felt like it was put in there to tick the 'multicultural' box) -MC's (boring and unprofessional, bring back Peter Rowsthorn please) -Only 1 fireworks point (always been 2 in the past) -Fireworks were lackluster -They stuffed up the countdown! (fireworks started going off at 5 seconds LOL) What happened to the $2.8 million?! It wasn't spent at the MCG's early event that's for sure. I'll take the kids somewhere else next year. Very unhappy.

The fireworks are held on the south eastern bank of the Yarra River in Melbourne. You can sit on either side, however many people stay in Federation Square enjoying the entertainment before walking down the steps to the river bank.
