B-24 Liberator Bomber Restoration

You are invited to call in and see the great restoration work being carried out on the B-24 Liberator by the many volunteers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.

Restoring Australia's only surviving B-24 Liberator long range heavy bomber. The restoration hangar is located on the corner of Princes Hwy and Farm Rd in Werribee. (Melways ref 205 F10)

The Restoration
We have acquired some 90% of the airframe and 70% of its furniture and fittings from many parts of the world and from generous benefactors.

This is the only remaining Liberator in the southern hemisphere, and is one of only eight still existent in the world.

Restoration is proceeding in one of the World War II hangars on the old Werribee airfield just outside Melbourne, and it is our intention that the airframe will be completely restored.

Donations
The Fund operates under the auspices of the National Trust of Australia and all donations of money, materials and parts are therefore tax deductible.

Your involvement in this project will give you immense satisfaction in knowing that you have played a part in preserving this aircraft for the national heritage.

I have in my possession the original Flight Manual B24 D and J and a original service and training manual Hydraulics for the B24.I am willing to donate this please let me know if you are interested in these books.

I wonder if this is the same B24 that sat in a yard with a B25 I saw there as a young teenager. It/they resided in a property in Moe Victoria just up from Wirraway St in the 1950's?
