La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary was set up in 1967 as a project in the restoration and management of indigenous flora and fauna.

La Trobe University is the caretaker of more than 100 hectares divided into four areas: The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary; The Gresswell Forest Nature Conservation Reserve; The Gresswell Habitat Link and The Gresswell Hill Nature Conservation Reserve.

Tours and experiences
We offer a range of tour and education experiences that focus on natural history and biodiversity. On our experiences you will not only discover a range of habitats and the animals that live here, but also discover much about the history and function of the area and its ecosystems.

Opening Hours
The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is open 10am - 3pm, Sunday - Friday and has a Gold Coin entry fee. Our Indigenous Nursery is open 10am - 3pm, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus of La Trobe University opposite Car Park 8. Melways reference 19 H5.
