Myrtleford | An Italian Festival with something for everyone!

Join us in this special celebration of Italian culture. Passion mixed with art, culture and heritage makes for a heady mix of fun the Italian way!

Filled with cooking demonstrations, food, wine, traditional dishes to taste, coach tour to local boutique wineries, art exhibition, heritage displays, museum of local tobacco, pizza dough throwing demonstrations, Italian car show, and plenty more.

Mass and Procession for St. Anthony of Padua
9am Myrtleford Piazza, Clyde St.

Following the Mass, a procession of veterans from the Italian Army’s Alpini Brigade and community members will carry the statue of St. Anthony acquired by St. Mary’s Catholic Church along Clyde Street. Come along and dress up in traditional regional Italian costume! Free entry.

Wild Mushroom Forage
10am

Enjoy a morning walk foraging for wild mushrooms with expert guides on the outskirts of Myrtleford. Learn the secret to finding these wonderful natural treasures and enjoy the option of tasting preserved mushrooms. Participants need to be fit and healthy and wear suitable footwear for walking in hilly terrain.

Limited numbers.

Talented Bastoni Pizzeria chef Alessandro will impress you as he freestyles, stretches, spins, tosses and juggles pizza dough like never seen before.

Sample some wonderful local wines from Alpine Valley Vigneron members and great regional produce, including traditional dishes from around Italy. Wine tasting glasses will be available for sale $5/each. Entertainment by Toni Marchi who will create a village feel atmosphere. James Liotta, Wangaratta West Primary School Choir, School of Tarnatells and Myrtleford Theatre Troupe. Presented by Patrizia Simone from Simone’s of Bright.

‘La Fiera Cup Soccer Challenge

Traditional rivals Myrtleford Savoy Soccer Club and Wangaratta City play head-to-head for the La Fiera Cup. Always a good crowd of supporters from both towns - this game is not one to miss. Main game commences at 3pm. Bring a chair and blanket.

Bocce Competition
8.45am-4pm Myrtleford Savoy Bocce Club, 252 Myrtle St.

Enjoy a taste of traditional food from the Trentino region in northern Italy.

Back in 1454 in the Italian town of Marostica, two young noblemen played a game of chess for the hand in marriage of the eldest daughter of the Lord of the town.The game was played in public using living people as the chess pieces.Join us as we re-invent this colourful re-enactment.
