Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal

Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal

The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is the nation’s largest Christmas gift appeal and an annual tradition for many Australian families.

Thanks to the public’s generosity, the Appeal has collected more than 5.9 million gifts for people in need over the past 24 years. This year, the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal aims to raise more than 500,000 gifts. Gifts donated at our store are collected and distributed by our Charity Partner The Salvation Army.

Gift donations are placed under Wishing Trees located in Kmart stores, in readiness for distribution to people in need via the Appeal’s charity partners.

To participate in the appeal simply place a gift under the Christmas Wishing Tree located in any Kmart store. Take a gift tag from the tree to identify the age and gender of a suitable recipient and place it with your gift. Alternatively, you can make a cash contribution to the appeal at any Kmart store register. Cash contributions are converted into Kmart gift cards, which are then distributed by the welfare groups, allowing appeal recipients to choose their own Christmas gift.
