Tennis

Melbourne Park was officially opened in 1988, with the first tennis ball hit in January at the Australian Open. Previously known as 'Flinders Park' or the 'National Tennis Centre', Melbourne Park's primary arena (Centre Court) was renamed Rod Laver Arena in 2000

Cycling

Cycling has long enjoyed a strong connection to the Melbourne and Olympic Park precinct. Since its construction in 2000, Hisense Arena has been the venue for major cycling events in Melbourne, the Revolution concept proving to be a revelation. Madisons, sprints and keirins are run throughout the series, which consisted of three rounds - The Melbourne Cup On Wheels, The Madison Championships and The Austral Wheelrace (now over 110 years old) .

Netball

The Melbourne Vixens compete in the trans-Tasman ANZ Championship split their home games between the State Netball Hockey Centre and Hisense Arena. Australia's fabulous Diamonds have regularly featured at Hisense Arena, usually in a showdown against arch rivals the New Zealand Silver Ferns.
