Can you smell that sweet, gingery scent in the air?
That’s EPICURE’s Executive Pastry Chef Deniz Karaca leading his 12-strong team and a brigade of sweet-toothed volunteers to bring his Gingerbread Village vision to life.
Now in its fourth year, the Gingerbread Village by EPICURE returns to the Melbourne Town Hall from December 1st, delighting both the young and younger at heart.
Over 2,000 hours have been spent creating the Gingerbread Village and in 2014 you’ll see some very recognisable landmarks. The Melbourne Town Hall, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Luna Park and a zoo - all connected by the Christmas train; a feature no gingerbread village would be without.
Whilst devouring the village itself may be tempting, it is not encouraged. Instead EPICURE’s pastry chefs will be creating delicious gingerbread treats that can be purchased on site, including gingerbread men, hearts and ice-cream. Perfect for eating whilst exploring the village, or to take away for Christmas gifting.
Entry to the Gingerbread Village by EPICURE will be by a gold coin donation to Make-A-Wish® Australia. Almost $50,000 in generous donations has been raised via the exhibition to date.
