Comedy Zone Asia | Melbourne International Comedy Festival



Comedy Zone Asia returns for a third year! This one-of-a-kind showcase brings the freshest and finest comedy from the region.The handpicked cast of performers are superstars of TV and online across Asia, so see them in Melbourne for a huge and hilarious dose of comedy culture!

Introducing:

Rizal van Geyzel (Malaysia) has a distinct comedic presence that lands somewhere between the profound and the absurd. His combination of Malay, Chinese, Turkish and Dutch descent has given Rizal a truly unique perspective!

Neeti Palta (India) prides herself on being a unique female voice in the Indian stand-up scene. She won the inaugural RAW Comedy India competition and went on perform as a Special Guest at the 2013 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She was also handpicked to open for Russell Brand on his tour to Delhi.

Jinx Yeo (Singapore) has been described as "a breath of fresh air" (TODAYonline), with expert and effortless delivery and hard-hitting punchlines. Jinx has performed all over Asia and in 2016 debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with his solo show A+ Underachiever. One of Asia’s fastest rising stars!

Sumit Anand (India) has appeared on Comedy Central and features regularly on Indian TV’s national program NDTV Rising Stars of Comedy.

Douglas Lim (Malaysia) has been coined ‘The King of Malaysian Comedy’, finding fame as a star of the long running Malaysian sitcom Kopitiam. During his time on the show Douglas was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy at the Asian TV Awards.
