Alluvial Restaurant

Alluvial Restaurant is a striking combination of modern day décor and old-world glamour. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu of Modern Australian cuisine with Asian and European influences.

Executive Chef Nick Reade blends produce that are quintessentially Victorian, with ingredients that diners may not expect to taste in this corner of the world. Reade’s desire to support local producers has given birth to the 200km concept.

While Reade still sources and delivers international flavours that cannot be replicated in Australia, he also offers signature dishes made entirely from ingredients that are grown or produced from within a 200 km radius of the hotel. To bring the freshest and most flavoursome herbs to diners at Alluvial Restaurant and throughout the hotel, Reade has also established a rooftop kitchen garden.

The garden is nestled among the pointed neo gothic turrets of The Rialto Building and provides a healthy supply of basil, coriander, lemon balm and more. It is the first hotel garden of its kind in Melbourne.
